Exploration - Wiley Park

I explored my first new suburb this evening, Wiley Park.

Sadly, it turned out to be a fairly boring place. The only thing of any real interest was the Cao Dai Temple.

The sun was going down by the time I got there, so my photo of it is a bit crappy. The Wiley Park Wikipedia page, linked above, has a better one.

I did manage to kill three birds with one stone. It dawned on me before I left that, since I was carrying my camera, I might as well take Mr Palomar along, too.

So, in addition to seeing a new suburb and getting some exercise, I was able to read another chapter while enjoying my beer at the Wiley Park Hotel.

Exploration

I've lived in Sydney for almost half a century and I reckon I've seen maybe one percent of it, if that.

Admittedly, a large proportion of it probably isn't worth seeing, but almost any location has some redeeming qualities.

Also, I've been wanting to get (a lot!) more exercise.

So, I have a cunning plan to kill two birds with one stone ...

At least once a week, I will catch a bus or train to a suburb I've never visited before, walk around, take some photos and have a beer ... or a coffee, in the unlikely (and sad) circumstance that I can't find a pub.

Now, I'm off to research my first destination ...

Update: Someone's beaten me to my plan to Walk Sydney Streets. Looks like he's been at it for quite some time, too.
